“After 75
stays at Getaway Cabins, it has been my privilege to “christen”
this cabin on its opening day. If you appreciate a more rustic
feel; a gorgeous yard and the surrounding pine forest; total
privacy and solitude; not to mention its own trail system and a
fantastic little pond…then this is the place for you! With all
the lights out at night, the yard is so perfectly dark and
silent, and it’s great for seeing the brilliant moon and for
stargazing. The cabin itself is well-appointed and has
everything. The porch is sunny and bright in the morning, and
cool and shaded in the evening. Next time, I plan to bring my
telescope for more gazing at the stars.”

The Gamebird is a rustic, Adirondack-like, hunting retreat that
has been restored to its original knotty-pine charm. It sits on
over one hundred acres that include several miles of walking
paths and a stocked pond. The wood-burning stove adds warmth to
the living area during the cooler months, and the screened-in
porch invites bug-free dining and cool breezes during the warmer
months. The Gamebird property is pet-friendly. It has a wildlife
feeding area on one side of the cabin, and a fire ring near the
gazebo-like structure that provides a perfect spot to grill and
enjoy the shade. Ringed by a hardwood and pine forest, the lawn
offers the perfect spot for star gazing. |
