What to Bring |
All of your towels and linens, cookware and utensils, dish soap and paper products are provided. Just bring your own food and toiletries. The items our guests most often forget are Coffee and soap for the shower. Don’t forget your hiking boots and cameras! Our cabins all have well-water. Some guests prefer to bring their own drinking water.

Amenities |
Occasionally appliances, hot tubs, fireplaces, etc… can malfunction. We will service and restore these amenities as quickly as we can, but will not make any rental concession for time without these items. Likewise, loss of electricity, water, or other “Acts of God” that are outside of our control will not result in a refund of any monies paid. We ask that you follow all guidelines and policies regarding use of amenities in order to keep them functioning at peak efficiency. Due to cleaning and servicing, hot tubs are sometimes not up to full temperature at the time of check in and may need several hours to heat. |
Extended Stays |
If you are staying more than two days, your hot tub will be checked on the third day and every other day thereafter. We will also bring you new towels on those days. |
Fireplaces |
Electric fireplaces are operational all year. It just takes a push of the button and you have "flames." The Lodge at Lane's End has a gas fireplace which is operational October-April. |
Telephones |
The only cabin that has its own phone is The Lodge at Lane's End (#29). There are community phones at both of our Chapel Ridge and Bishop's Ridge locations. All of the phones offer FREE nationwide long distance. You are unlikely to have cellular phone service.

Electrical Outages |
Unfortunatley electical outages do happen out here in the country! We do have flashlights in the cabins, but you might want to bring one just in case. |
Bugs |
We have our cabins professionally treated on a regular basis, but we have invaded the bugs' natural habitat. You are in the middle of the woods and you WILL see bugs and spiders during your stay! You might want to bring some bug spray if you plan to spend time outside and hiking at the parks. |
Satellite TV |
All of our cabins now offer DirecTV. We also offer a free video lending library at the office. Feel free to check out as many movies as you would like, or bring your own. Each cabin has DVD and VCR. |
Winter Weather |
Please note that there are no refunds due to inclement weather, and that we HIGHLY RECOMMEND four wheel drive during the Winter months. While most roads around us are State Routes and school bus routes and are therefore well-cared for, the very nature of the roads in the Hocking Hills area can make traveling difficult if you are not experienced driving in ice or snow. All of our driveways are gravel, and can be as much as ½ mile long. We suggest staying at our Chapel Ridge location if any of this makes you nervous, and that you plan to arrive before dark to make driving easier. Please make sure that you have everything with you that you will need for the duration of your stay. It is YOUR responsibility to be able to get to and from your cabin.
Still not scared??...Good!
We’ve done our best to give you all the “cons” and to be sure that you are ready for the worst case scenarios, but we think that if you’ll give Winter in the Hocking Hills a chance, you’ll really be hooked!
There's nothing like sitting in a hot tub and watching it snow! Most of our guests that have experienced the Hills in the Winter make it a yearly tradition. |
